ANZAC DAY

Friday, 12th April 2024 at 8:59am

LEST WE FORGET:

Student Leaders from Green Bay High School will participate in the Anzac Day Parade, together with senior management, school groups, community and whānau in what has become part of Green Bay High School's annual tradition.

The Anzac Day Parade starts at 10am from Titirangi Village, followed by a Service at 10.30am, held in the Titirangi Village Memorial Hall.

What is Anzac Day? Anzac Day is held each year on 25 April, in recognition of soldiers who fought together at Gallipoli. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The date marks the first big military action by Australian and New Zealand soldiers in Gallipoli in 1915.

From dawn services to parades and ceremonies at RSAs, people will gather to reflect on the atrocities of war, remember those who died, and honour the contributions of returned service personnel.
