Surf Life Saving Skills

Throughout the week (2-6 December) Year 9 students have been travelling by bus to South Piha Surf Club for a day at the beach applying the knowledge and skills they have learnt in their PE / Health classes.

Students have enjoyed the sunshine and warmer weather while exploring the beach environment with qualified lifeguards, teachers and senior students.

Rip spotting, Lifeguard training, beach awareness and having fun in the Piha waves are all on the agenda for this day out. This programme has proven to be a popular and successful link to using our local beaches with maximum safety and fun in mind for the upcoming summer season.
