From the beginning of their secondary schooling, students are faced with important decisions that will lead to future career choices. Many opportunities are offered in class and by the Careers Adviser to advise and encourage students to make wise choices that will offer them a wide range of possibilities for the future.

Did You Know? New University Entrance Requirements from 2014: University Entrance (UE) will continue to be the minimum requirement to go to a New Zealand university. From 1 March 2014, to be awarded UE you will need:

NCEA Level 3 consisting of:

  • Three approved subjects at Level 3, made up of 14 credits each
  • Literacy – 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing
  • Numeracy – 10 credits at Level 1 or above, made up of: Achievement Standards – specified achievement standards available through a range of subjects or Unit Standards
