Automotive Pathways

Careers Dept
This year Year 12 students, Sam Murtagh and Kimiya Rasekh, participated in a Female Automotive Pathways programme at Unitec this year, spending one day a week learning practical automotive skills.

Both are keen to pursue careers in the Automotive industry, Sam as an automotive technician on high end vehicles and Kimiya as a diesel mechanic, and recently attended a Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO) trip, along with other interested participants.

Showcasing industry opportunities such as Giltrap Audi in New North Road, Colin Waite Panelbeaters in Kingsland and TruckStop in Mt Wellington, the MITO trip provided an opportunity to speak with other female automotive technicians who were really passionate about their jobs and have a bright future.

In Term 4, a local MITO representative will be visiting Green Bay High School to student leavers who are keen to work in this industry, and directing them to companies who may be employing. If you are interested in attending this talk, please contact theĀ Careers Department.
