Wednesday 29 May, 2019

(20 May 2019) Dear Family and Whanau, many of you will already have read media reports about the upcoming industrial action by teachers. The PPTA (Secondary Teachers’ Union) and the NZEI (Primary Teachers’ and Principals’ Union) are joining together to hold strike action on Wednesday, May 29th. While Green Bay High School will be open, there will be no classes running on Wednesday, 29 May. If your child needs to be supervised at school that day, they will need to report to the Student Services reception at the beginning of the school day. Students will be supervised doing their own work in the library.

To support students and families we have decided to replace our planned Teacher Only Day (31 May) with a normal school day. All students should be at school and classes will run as usual on Friday 31 May.

We understand that families may have already made arrangements for the day before the long weekend, and apologise for any inconvenience.

Kind regards, Fiona Barker
