Sylvie-Rose Strange

Recognising our School Values
Last week’s Pink Shirt Day would not have been such a success at Green Bay High School if it wasn’t for the hard work that went on behind the scenes by Sylvie-Rose Strange (Year 13).

Sylvie is an incredible asset to have on our school leadership teams including Live for Tomorrow, Green Impact, Positive Behaviour 4 Learning and the Youth CyberZone team.

From being instrumental in Bullying Intervention videos to helping run the Light it Orange festival and Pink Shirt Day, Sylvie was recognised for her high levels of social and emotional awareness and received the award for Team Lifter at the recent Whau Youth Awards, held last Friday.

Whau Youth Awards are held in recognition of the incredible rangatahi who live, work, play, faith and study in the Whau – Blockhouse Bay, New Windsor, Green Bay, New Lynn, Avondale, Kelston. Whau Youth Award winners are kind, brave, hard-working, humble, talented, passionate and true.

Sylvie – sporting her recently cropped look, due the Shave For a Cure event which took place in March – was awarded Star of the Week for demonstrating our school values of Excellence / Rau O Te Huia; Courage / Ko Kauri; Respect / He Tangata, He Tangata; Responsiveness / E Tipu, E Rea.
