3-5 December
Throughout the week, Year 9 students have been travelling by bus out to South Piha Surf Club for a day at the beach applying the knowledge and skills they have learnt in their PE / Health classes.

This is a compulsory part of the PE curriculum, and is covered under the school fees, so please ensure these have been paid for your child for this year.

Students have enjoyed the sunshine and warmer weather while exploring the beach environment with qualified lifeguards, teachers and senior students. Rip spotting, Lifeguard training, beach awareness and having fun in the Piha waves are all on the agenda for this day out.

Beach Ed continues next week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (see schedule below). Students will be attending with their Form and PE teachers, other teachers, Senior PE students and qualified Piha Surf Club lifeguards. (In case of dangerous weather, please check on school website for cancellation)

Monday 3rd December: P9PAT, W9WOO
Tuesday 4th December: K9ALT, K9EVN
Wednesday 5th December: M9HIL, W9SKI, K9DAV

Green Bay High School has been running this programme for 14 years now, and it has proven to be a popular and successful link to using our local beaches with maximum safety and fun in mind for the upcoming summer season.
