Shredding the Slopes

From the 23-27 August, 16 PE Outdoors students traipsed over the Central Plateau learning to ski and snowboard, developing Alpine climbing skills and underground caving techniques.

The students completed the requirements for 2 standards – Risk Management and Outdoor Leadership and gained many new skills.

Boundaries were pushed and fears conquered as they shredded slopes, learnt how to climb with an ice axe, and to make it through squeezes with names like the ‘Toaster’ and the ‘Corkscrew’!
