Closing the gender gap

Girls’ Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math
Green Bay High School is pleased to announce GirlBoss CEO Alexia Hilbertidou will be visiting us in a few weeks, facilitating a free workshop designed to ignite girls’ interest in a STEAM career.

GirlBoss New Zealand aims to provide young women with the opportunity to lead change, close the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, and make a significant impact in the S.T.E.A.M fields.

Alexia is a much sought-after speaker who has spoken to more than 20,000 people in corporate offices, government agencies and schools in the last 18 months. Named the most influential New Zealand woman under 25 at the Westpac Women of Influence Awards, Alexia also received a medal at Buckingham Palace from Her, Majesty The Queen for Services to the Commonwealth.

ChangemakeHer is a FREE interactive 2 hour workshop, taking place here at school on Wednesday 21 November, during Periods 3, 4. As spaces are limited for this workshop, please see Catrin Hughes in the Vocational Pathways office to register your interest (next to the Up&Go vending machine in E block).
