PM’s Youth Programme

Held annually since 2010, the programme is for young people aged 14 to 17 who live, work or attend school in Central, South, or West parts of Auckland, who have faced challenges in their lives and are now positively moving forward or who are showing the potential to do so.

Organised by the Ministry of Youth Development, in partnership with nationwide organisations, this programme is designed to foster and celebrate achievement for young people from Auckland aged 14 – 17 years, who have demonstrated strength of character to make positive and life-changing choices in their lives

Previous programmes have offered activities such as leadership building activities and teamwork while white-water rafting. Participants get to experience a number of developmental opportunities and meet inspirational New Zealanders, and will take part in a range of different activities designed to further develop life skills and provide a great insight into further education and potential career paths.

Students selected for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme 2018 will attend a four day programme – Monday 22 January to Thursday 25 January 2018 – where they will experience a range of different activities, access a number of development opportunities, meet inspirational New Zealanders and identify goals for the future.
