Imogen Everett

Year 10
Imogen (pictured above above) spent five weeks training and competing in a number of international Fencing competitions, and wrote the following report:

“I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go overseas for 5 weeks to compete in fencing competitions and training camps in Sydney Australia, Newcastle England and Polanica-Zdroj Poland.

Sydney was the Under 15 and Under 17 championships, which went really well with me being able to take home 5th place and 3rd= in the U15 individuals and teams; and 3rd= and 2nd place in the U17 individuals and teams.

The Commonwealth Under 17 and Under 20 championships which took place in Newcastle, England was a very new experience for me and although I didn’t compete to my best capability in the individuals, as a part of the New Zealand team we came 3rd= in the U17 team competition.

I then took part in a 10 day training camp in Poland which was very tiring and intense, but an amazing experience. I am very proud of the whole New Zealand team and so grateful to have been able to take part in this amazing and unforgettable trip.
