Green Bay Glows Orange

Mufti Day
Next week, on Thursday 8 March, Green Bay High School will join hundreds of schools, workplaces, and individuals throughout New Zealand to Light It Orange – helping to raise awareness of family violence and much needed funds to help victims of family violence get safe and stay safe.

Students and staff are encouraged to dress in orange – for a gold coin donation – and light up the school!

Green Bay High School has always placed a high value on healthy relationships, both in and out of the classroom. We are continuing to support this by holding a mufti day on Thursday 8 March to raise funds for the charity Shine, whose focus is making homes violence free.

Lunchtime visits by schools and other community groups, including our local community constable, will help educate students about healthy relationships, raising awareness of the support that is available for those who are impacted by unhealthy relationships, with ongoing support offered from our specially trained student SHINE Beacons.

Funds raised through Light It Orange in Auckland will support KIDshine to help children who have experienced family violence. Need help? The free-to-call national Helpline (0508-744-633), is answered 7 days a week, 9am to 11pm.
