Employability Programme
On Tuesday evening parents and students attended a Careers Information evening hosted by our school Careers department. As well as covering the changes at Level 2 and 3 NCEA the team outlined the complexities of the New Zealand Qualifications framework.

Guest speaker Alysha Bentley of the Youth Employability Programme – licence to work (YEP) spoke to our audience about the need for the future workforce to be flexible and adaptable to change in order to cope with the rapidly evolving employment landscape.

One of the best ways for students to gain and hone their employability skills is through work experience and volunteering.

Did you know there are ten steps on the framework beginning with NCEA and New Zealand Certificates at Level 1 through to doctorates at Level 10? The image (above right) provides a snapshot of the possibilities for studying in and out of school and the potential for everyone to become life-long learners.
