House System

Green Bay High School is awash with colour, fun, laughter and sportsmanship during our annual Athletics Day.

This event marks the start of the year’s House competition. The House system is an vital part of campus life at Green Bay High School with the aim of providing a sense of competition and whanau support, through a range of school based activities. House events run throughout the year with Points awarded for each event. As well as school wide competitions, individual students can earn House points for outstanding academic or community based achievements. The Leader Board, situated in Student Services, clearly shows which House is in the lead.

Students belong to one of five houses which are named after our local beaches: Anawhata (black), Karekare (yellow), Muriwai (blue), Whatipu (red), Piha (green). As well as school wide competitions, individual students can earn House points for outstanding academic or community based achievements.
