Keeping YOU safe

Keep your Parent Portal (medical) up to date!

Nominated First Aiders at Green Bay High School are required to keep their First Aid qualifications up to date in order to provide immediate assistance to anyone who has suffered an injury or illness while at school.

As part of the Teacher Planning Day, held on Tuesday, a group of staff members took the opportunity to attend a First Aid refresher course covering the basics of: resuscitation and choking, bleeding, shock, fractures, sprains and head injuries, hypothermia, burns and poisoning as well as medical emergencies, including asthma, diabetes and epilepsy, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and severe allergic reactions.

Students are also encouraged to be workplace ready with First Aid knowledge being a valuable addtition to their CV.  Senior students can ulitise this resource, at school, through a Gateway programme. For more information please contact our Gateway Co-ordinator Mary Parshotam via email or phone 817-8173 ext 242.

This is a timely reminder to please check your Parent Portal (medical) details to ensure we have the correct information relating to your child. You may also like to talk to Clare Thomas phone 817-8173 ext 253 who is in charge of our school Sick Bay, to discuss your child’s medical needs.
