Time to think ahead
Financial Scholarship awareness has begun! The Careers Department are here to help you find your way.

Our school Careers department held an informative assembly with Year 13s today. A scholarship booklet was given out to students via their form classes (and also sent as a link to each students’ school email account).

For most scholarships, students will need to have achieved at Merit or Excellence Level at Year 12. Involvement within the school and local community increases their chances of gaining a scholarship, as many of the University scholarships are very competitive. Green Bay High School is fortunate to be eligible for 19 scholarships from the Trusts Community Foundation which will be allocated to deserving Year 12 and 13 students.

Careers staff will be running lunchtime scholarship workshops over the next few weeks, on Tuesday 18 June and Tuesday 25 June. Students should now know where they plan to study in order to apply for scholarships, and Careers staff have had conversations with them around that.

Students are expected to complete a Scholarship Expression of Interest Google form by the last Wednesday of term (3 July) which generates a request for references from teachers and the Year 13 dean. Students will also need to complete their online scholarship and university applications over the July term break.

The Careers team have been promoting the MoneyHub website as a valuable search option for scholarships, although students should be searching through University scholarship websites also.
