Career minded
Auckland Rugby League programme opens the gateway to a range of career options for a group of senior students within the sports industry, thanks to the ARL Gateway Course which has been taking place over the last three days.

As part of their hands-on learning experience, students have increased their understanding of working within the sporting industry. The ARL Gateway programme enables students to complete NCEA level 2 or level 3, using industry unit standards which can also be credited towards a nationally recognised industry qualification.

Students were provided with an introduction to the sports industry through coaching, practical sessions, classroom sessions, work placement and guest speakers. The course was scheduled to end with a tour of Mt Smart Stadium…however Taylor Swift had booked the venue out to do her soundcheck in the lead up to tonight’s concert, so the boys’ had an extra day back in the classroom!
