Green Bay High School was awash with colour earlier this week, during our Annual Athletics Day. Students participated in a wide range of Athletic events. Results were recorded and we have some outstanding athletic ability to promote in upcoming Secondary School Athletic meets. Highlights of the day were watching Cory McDermott (Year 13) once again leap to new heights in the High Jump event and staff relay event – with surprising results! Athletics Day promotes fun and camaraderie throughout the school.

The House system is an essential part of campus life at Green Bay High School with the aim of providing a sense of competition and whanau support, through a range of school based activities. Students belong to one of five houses which are named after our local beaches: Anawhata (black), Karekare (yellow), Muriwai (blue), Whatipu (red), Piha (green). House events run throughout the year with Points awarded for each event. As well as school wide competitions, individual students can earn House points for outstanding academic or community based achievements. The Leader Board is situated in Student Services and clearly shows which House is in the lead.
