Ready for Round 2 - Otago Junior Maths Competition!

The results are in ... Congratulations to the following students who have placed within the top 15% of New Zealand, receiving Certificates of Distinction in the first round of the Otago Junior Maths competition - and have progressed to the next level of the competition, to be held next week!

Coming up ... the University of Auckland Mathematical Olympiad!

Our young mathematical minds are warming up and getting ready to take part in this year's University of Auckland Mathematical Olympiad, to be held this weekend (Saturday 11 May 2024).

Representing Green Bay High School in this fast paced and quick thinking Math competition Jibriil Omar (Year 9), Ryan Lott (Year 10), Michael Zuo (Year 10), Mony Chhun (Year 13) (pictured above) as well as Juliette Colquhoun (Year 10), Daniel Colquhoun (Year 12) - both absent from photo due to Orienteering committments

The aim of the Auckland Maths Olympiad (AMO) is to foster further interest in Mathematics, and to provide our rangatahi with the opportunity to exhibit their problem solving skills, by completing a wide range of challenges put to them by Auckland University mathematicians.

AMO provides an opportunity for gifted mathematical students to actively extend their knowledge and skills, while also building team work and social skills with like minded peers.
